My brothers beautiful dog has died

Feel like I need to post on here as my brothers beautiful dog was killed yesterday in tragic accident. He and my sister inlaw are absolutely heart broken. They were the most wonderful owners and gave their dog the best life. Never left her for more than hour or 2 at most. Lots of wonderful holidays with her and daily bed snuggles. I feel so helpless as they are so broken. What helps the grieving process with a dog.

Unfortunately there is absolutely nothing you can do except be there to listen to them. They must be absolutely heartbroken 💔

I'm so sorry to read this.
It's so devastating losing a pet, they are so much more than that. Thinking of you.

How lovely that you are so empathetic. It's happened to us once and you're right it's devastating. The only thing is time. They need time. Time for the tears to become smiles. They'll have wonderful
Memories of their dear dog, and they need time to surface.
You sound like a lovely sister x

My db lost his beloved dog in tragic circumstances. He lives quite far away so I sent him a dog bereavement card that I found online and some perennial flower seeds that the variety was his dog's name. He scattered some of his dog's ashes in the pot that he planted the seeds in and when he moved house he took them with him

What a lovely thing to do.

We recently lost our dog and I received bereavement card, it was really touching, I will keep it forever.

We received a few sympathy cards when we had to let our dog go last week and they really touched me so I would also echo the posters saying to send a card. There's nothing else you can do for them unfortunately... it's a terrible cliche but time is a great healer and the only thing that will help them right now.

The Blue Cross pet bereavement support service are worth a try. Sorry to hear the saddest news.
