Hand hold please - really worried about an op

Logically, my dog isn’t quite nine years old yet and will be fine. The vet has expressed no real concern ahead of the op. But now it is tomorrow and I am really scared for him.

he will hopefully be a day surgery patient, having a large lump removed from his chest. There is a firm belief this is benign, though it will be tested, but oh the worry.

this is my gorgeous boy, he’s my absolute shadow, never normally more than a few feet away from me at any time.

please send doggy good wishes his way all of tomorrow.

My nine year old lab had a lump removed. She sailed through it. Good luck to yours.

Sending positive thoughts and happy dog wishes for you and your dog. Understandable that you’re worried OP, all will be well. Lots of rest and cuddles when home tomorrow night. I am always that person who calls every few hours to see how my dogs are if at the vets for surgery.

Thank you @Honeyroar

Aw, your dog will be fine OP, but it's completely understandable to worry! Anaesthetics are very safe these days (like for people) and dogs are brilliant healers. This time tomorrow he'll be home and snoozing next to you like a champ 😊

He is fine! Op went well, benign lump and he is likely to heal very well.

he is tired and tender tonight, but he is well!

thank you everyone for all the kind words.

That's great news OP! Give him a cuddle for us 😊

He must be feeling better, he’s just tried (and succeeded) in mooching dinner off my plate.
