Hi all, my 18 month old Cockapoo had a tummy bug last week and I put her on special food to settle her stomach. As a result her energy has shot up and it's made us realise that she was lacking energy prior to this...I'm wondering if that is down to what we feed her. She gets grain free kibble (salmon) and raw beef topper, she has a few pizzle sticks a week too (maybe that wasn't agreeing with her?)I ideally I'd like to keep her kibble and top with a wet food maybe? Does anyone do this or have any recommendations? She's on grain free food because the breeder had her on that but is it even the right way to go? So much choice out there, don't know where to start! At the moment her food is v reasonably priced so don't want anything costing a fortune. Thanks 😊

Thanks for all the help...went for Millie's Wolfheart in the end with help from an independent pet shop. The current vet food she's on has a scarily low amount of meat so she recommended not jumping up to 80% meat in one go. MW do a 50% one that we're going to try and I can add grains now and again too as it's a grain free one

@dolor and @ExhaustedFlamingo I looked into tails.com when we fed kibble and unfortunately the personalised food line seems to be a marketing gimmick. I put in two completely different dog profiles and it came up with the same food!

It’s not great quality either when you look at the ingredients to say they try and position themselves as a premium food in the market.

I used a free offer someone shared on here for Tails and although my dog loved it (I did half and half in her bowl and she ate the Tails first🤣) I did notice her poos were bigger and softer, oh and smellier! She now just has it for her treats when out and about.
I hope your dog is ok on the MW @tocahairchop

My mums dog and our dog have Tails foods, and they’re definitely different. They’ve also changed the flavour of our food when my dog wasn’t so keen on it. Definitely not a gimmick.

Their wet food looks like a dinner I might serve up 😂😂 It’s really good quality.

We’ve had a lot of the vet recommended premium foods in the past and I can honestly say Tails is the only one that has sorted out my dog’s digestive upsets. Firm, non-smelly poos, loads of energy.

Im not trying to persuade anyone to try it - it’s up to you. I wouldn’t have bothered if my mum hadn’t banged on about it 😂😂 But it’s been brilliant for us and my dog is 10 yrs old now.

Tails is definitely not premium. There's a range of foods they say are "personalised" but it's only like ringing Millie's Wolfheart who will talk to you about exercise, breed, preferences etc and recommend a good for you.

And Millie's is much better quality.
