We have a 15 week old springer spaniel. She's walked off lead every day through woods or on the beach and as you can imagine with a spaniel, that means a LOT of mud, sand and dirt.

I've been thinking about getting a Mud Daddy for a while so we can wash her down before getting in the car but they're £45 plus. So I looked for alternatives and found this at Go Outdoors for £9 and thought it was worth a try.

It is THE BEST purchase we've made. It's works so so well, it's a great bit of kit. We fill it with nearly hot water before we go and stick it in the boot so it's still warm after an hours walk. It has a brush attachment that was a bit too long (like dustpan brush size) so we cut half off and it's perfect. Pressure level is just right, it seems solidly built, no leaks, easy to pump and use, brush is soft but effective and cleans her right up.

Just wanted to share because I was so pleased with it and so glad I didn't spend 45 quid or more on a mud daddy when this seems the same for less than a tenner! Highly recommended for muddy hounds.

I bought a sprinkler that fits onto the top of a 2ltr drinks bottle, was about 99p off Amazon. Fill a couple of bottles up with warm water, remove lid, screw on sprinkler and squeeze! That and a microfibre towel.
