Have you managed to upset your dog this weekend

Hi all, I thought I’d start a thread to I’d ask if you managed to upset or piss your dog off this weekend/today by just being alive!

Our girl had dental work done at the vets on Friday and Saturday she had a groom and now she’s no longer acknowledging me! It is quite funny as she has been going to my husband for everything she usually comes to me for but now we are on Monday and I know she wants breakfast but she currently has her back to me and hubby is at work! I am getting scowled out and sighed at when she looks at me! it’s been like this for 3 days now 🙈

So let me know what you’ve done to annoy your beloved fluffy no matter how insignificant so I’m not alone 😆

I went into the kitchen at least 3 times over the weekend without bringing him a snack back, I also got a Burger King & didn't buy him one even though he is allergic to them & has IBD so I won't be dealing with the shit show that will follow if I give him one

Mines currently in a grump because we just got back from a looong drive (he hates the car). He keeps sighing and refusing to leave the bedroom

KILM · 03/10/2022 13:31

Annoyed mine by telling her she couldnt nibble the edge of my sandwich. Big sulk.

CMOTDibbler · 03/10/2022 13:34

I took his coat off when out for a walk and the sun was hot and he was panting (before the sun came out it was chilly). He sulked all the way back, but forgave me when I put his coat back on to go home.

ginandvomit · 03/10/2022 13:41

I've ruined my dogs life and he's currently outside sulking because we're now home from a lovely weekend away at the beach.

And to add insult to injury I washed and brushed him and hand removed these after he rolled in a huge patch of burs that managed to attach themselves to him.

Nice to know I’m not alone! She’s still not forgiving or forgetting! She’s been on the spare bedroom like this all morning! No walkies, no snacks, no checking if I’m still alive! Not remotely interested in me at all Grin

One of mine got the hump because I wouldn’t pick his smelly old hedgehog toy from approximately 5cm from under one of the dining chairs.

The other’s still annoyed I wouldn’t give him a grape.

Billybagpuss · 03/10/2022 13:47

I allowed the cat access to the lasagna dish and didn’t wait until she was ready

Mine has a hot water bottle at bed time (I know!) but it was a bit nippy this morning so I put her hot water bottle on the sofa, so she could sit nicely there. This was the Wrong Thing to do and she dragged it back to bed, muttering.

If looks could kill ( check under your pillow later! S/he may be planning payback) Grin

I had the audacity to get out of bed on Sunday (10am, so she had a lie-in!). She's still giving me side-eye stares and disdainful sighs. Lying on her bed and grousing quietly about no lie-in, and how she deserves one, and how very dare I...!!!

(In fairness, she's my assistance dog, due to my disabilities, and needs her sleep - but even so, how dare I get up!!!)

Oh, and I also took an open packet of bacon off her this morning, which my 18 year old had knocked onto the floor (and left) rather than putting it into the food waste. It was slightly "off" and raw... didn't want the inevitable consequences of her eating it, but I'm the worst Mama on the face of the planet right now, for two days in a row!

(She loves me really...)

Uncertain111 · 03/10/2022 13:56

This is so funny. I’ve recently become a first time dog owner and am definitely noticing he can get a sulk on
with me. He’s 17 weeks old now and recent insults I’ve inadvertently caused to him are daring to use the hairdryer on my hair and leaving him in his pen to snooze for longer than he desired. Both resulted in long lasting cold shoulder

Uncertain111 · 03/10/2022 13:57

Definitely gives side-eye and cold shoulder

You can see the pain and confusion in her eyes!

The side-eye is the worst... you can feel it, even if you're not looking at them. Mine is part-Corgi, so very adept at the whole "you do as I say, not as you think you want" attitude. My user name is literally one of the monikers I have for her - the other is My Little Tyrant Dictator (because she nags worse than my mother ever did!).

Mine is a Lhasa and is also a mini dictator! I may or may not be slightly terrified of her Grin

@ginandvomit - I get side eye and sighs and huffs when I have to hand remove hundreds of those because she chose to frolic in the undergrowth!

ijustcouldntthinkofausername · 03/10/2022 14:08

My boy is sulking. Rightly so.
He had his grooming appointment yesterday and came back bleeding!
She had cut one of his nails down too short 😢 even though when I sent her the picture she said he must have just done that in on the pavement on the way out! (Not going back there again) didn't even offer to bring him back round so she could have a look.

He's fine now, the bleeding stopped. But he's in a sulk with me. I haven't seen him. He's attached to DH side 🙄

honeyfox · 03/10/2022 14:19

I let her Dad (favourite human) go away for the weekend and then she spent Friday and today in doggy daycare. He's home now so she won't look at me this evening.

isthismylifenow · 03/10/2022 14:30

Oh I can join in...

She is most displeased with me as it's too hot. It's 36 so it is quite, but she thinks I have arranged this to upset her.

So I gently suggested she dip her feet in the pool, so now I won't let her in the house until her feet dry. This isn't out of the ordinary I should add, she has a dip most days and doesn't come in with wet feet.

So she won't even look at me now. Before that I was just getting ignored, but now I'm really in the dog box.

I am for it tomorrow as it's going to be even hotter.

My Lab on the other hand, doesn't give a shiny shit and is still plodding around following me everywhere. (he doesn't swim though, weird dog)

Hoppinggreen · 03/10/2022 14:32

I wanted an audience free poo
Hasnt gone down well, he keeps looking at me and sighing

vodkaredbullgirl · 03/10/2022 14:33

Went to work last night and left them with adult kids.

bengalcat · 03/10/2022 14:36

Didn’t take mine out first thing Sunday morning - took DD to station in the car and planned to move dog from back of car to the front - dog got out of car and refused to get back in lol - she sat down on the pavement and ‘ glued ‘ herself staring straight ahead - cheered up when we came back via Hyde Park and she could chase squirrels

RedHelenB · 03/10/2022 14:41

I must have an unusual dog because he doesn't sulk and forgives everything. He's always happy to see any of the family or friends.
