New puppy, what to put in crate?

Hey everyone, we've collected our 11 week old Cockapoo today. We already have the crate for bedtime, but now I'm wondering what to put in it for her to sleep on. She's been sleeping on an old towel on our laps but I'm worried that maybe she shouldn't be left alone with it. There is just the hard floor of the cage so she needs something. What should I use??

Thanks.

We bought two cheap ish dog beds (about £20 each) from Pets at Home - one for the crate and a spare because of the inevitable accidents so there was usually one in the wash.

Digby & Fox waterproof dog beds. It took 4 months before our labrador was able to rip the corners

I'd just get a couple of cheap washable dog beds and give her a teddy to cuddle up to, she isn't going to be used to sleeping by herself.

Awh she needs something soft and cosy that smells like her mum, I recommend a hot water bottle wrapped securely in a blanket and a ticking clock near her too. Cover the crate with a sheet too, good luck!!!! (Need a pic)

I'd second Vetbed. That stuff is indestructible. We have 3 (dog is no longer in a crate) that we line her bed with and it's great. Wasted lots of money on mats that got destroyed before buying Vetbed.

I had about a tonight's worth of the Daily Telegraph under a Vetbed. I wedged a large plastic box, upside down, down one end so he couldn't use the whole crate while he was still so tiny. He brought a teddy from the breeder. I covered all but one side with fleece blankets.

I second putting something in the crate to make it smaller. We didnt at first and puppy peed and pooped in it every night until we did.
