Can the heat turn pups hysterical?

9 month old Bolognese pup, has calmed down loads over the last few months, good girl, post first season - all good. But, during this heat wave she’s turned into an utter banshee! Barking hysterically at all the patio doors and out in the garden, not sleeping well, not settling etc. We’ve got fans, nice cold mats, lots of cool shady places to sleep - she’s not overheated but wondering whether the heat’s turned her a bit loopy? Anyone else experiencing this?

Has her season finished? My 10 month old girl is in heat now and barking at everything which is very unlike her.... I think its a defence mechanism as she's maybe feeling vunerable. Of course the 39 degrees heat doesn't help!

Is she about 2 months after her season? Possible phantom pregnancy

Pups like being hysterical, too little sleep, too hot, change of routine. Make sure she is hydrated and she should be fine once the weather settles.

Season was 3 months ago and she’s being spayed on Friday (god, I really hope it’s not a phantom pregnancy! I’m not sure DH is going to tolerate much more ‘crazy bitch pup’ behaviour 🙈) - you’re right though, change of routine because of walks being re-timed to avoid the worst of the heat, she’s not eating much and there’s suddenly weird fans everywhere. Pups do like a bit of hysteria, you’re right on that! Thanks for the responses :)

If you have a dog that is really tied to a routine, not being able to do certain things might leave them feeling a bit discombobulated
