Dog being sick occasionally after dry food

Our shih tzu/Maltese rescue has three times this week been sick after eating his dry food, it's not wet sick it comes out in a thick poo shape and we can see undigested dry kibble/carrot.
We have him 11 months now and this happened when we first got him on one occasion after eating dry food but we've never seen it happen again until this week.
He is otherwise well and acting as normal, he has never been a fan of the dry food since we've had him so I don't know what he was fed previously but he loves the wet dog food which we treat him to twice a week and he has kept the wet food down this week so it just seems to be the dry?
I think I'll take him to the vet next week to get him checked but in the meantime would anyone have an idea what could be causing this?

If it's not digested, he's probably eating it too quickly.

Try feeding him out of a slow feeder/snuffle mat, and make sure the kibble is small enough for him to chew easily too :)

@coffeecupsandfairylights Thanks for the advice, I will pick up a slow feeder this week, I should of stated it's more regurgitation than sick as the food is not digested and it only happens after eating the dry dog food.( the dry food is actually very small pieces so no big pieces at all) .

It happened again this morning after he ate the dry food so I gave him wet food after a while and more wet food again this evening and he is fine with it.
It's happened four times this week now so I will be checking with the vet this coming week I'm just wondering why it has started happen all of a sudden but he's ok we wet food? As I said in original post it did happen just the once last summer after we first rescued him.
He is still acting as normal so doesn't appear unwell at all.
