Next door has 2 what she says are pom/cocker Crosses are nearly 6 months old

Am worried as they often left in large metal crate they say a run but is about 4 foot at most in the garden end she said just while grass grows and they like being outside but we hear the puppies crying and whining occasionally barking ..

Forexample the puppies been out in crate in garden since 9am ish this morning so over 12 hours and are .regulary left out in crate .I get that puppies are hard work my boy brought me to tears when he was a puppy but seems wrong

But not sure if RSPCA will do anything as technically have shelter with roof but seems so wrong .The odd time they escaped they seem lovely and affectionate .I did give them water and food when escaped as neighbours not home and it was hot out

I would let the RSPCA decide whether or not the way the dogs are being treated is problematic. I would report it to them as you've described here, and see what their response is.

Sadly as long as they have shelter and water the rpsca wont do much
sorry it must be hard to see that.. :(

They need reporting, that is definitely neglect - I do wonder whether they actually want the dogs?
I see that the RSPCA might do nothing but I'd still report anonymously anyway. You never know other people may have concerns & if they aren't well cared for in other ways (groomed properly etc) this can aka lead to real problems for the dogs. At least you'll have done what you can having reported them

I have tried mentioning that 2 puppies must be hard work after saying I would not want to do again

But was told that they are fine don't really bark just cry and mainly worse if they (as in people)are outside. Was barking yesterday

I know they previously had security dogs at last place o wonder if part reason why outside as used to
But other than 10 mins or so being yelled to sit every few daya
etc never any interaction and are out there good 75% of time are out there this morning so not I last night even though rained

Will call RSPCA especially as has roof but sides are just metal crate open

I'd find that hard to cope with as well.

Do they not let them out to toilet?

Op I know what your going through . I'm having the same with my neighbour . They have not been let in the house since they were pups and it's been 6 years no . I also heard him beating his dog and filmed it . I went mental on him and all I had back was abuse . I have phoned the RSPCA so many times and so has my neighbours . Even mentioned him beating them and have video footage . But guess what . They still havnt been out ! Or if they have because they got food and shelter they don't bother

That is serious animal abuse. Do you have any dog charities in your area whole you could approach - a referral to the RSPCA would be stronger comings from another organisation - failing that I would suggest going to a vet & asking for advice, tell them everything you know & say that the RSPCA have been informed but don't appear to be interested.

How did you get on with calling the RSPCA? Did they take it seriously do you think?
I'm sorry you're going through this I would find it really distressing too.
Don't give up though let us know how you are getting on with it
