Hullo I've had a new puppy with the personality and face of an angel.

But she insists in eating her own poo of we can't get to it first.

Please please tell me she'll grow out of it 😭😭😭

Mine is 4 months and only likes his morning ones now so progress has been made from snacking all day.

MrsWinters · 06/04/2022 20:20

Feed a little pineapple, it makes the poo unpalatable

Glendaruel · 06/04/2022 20:27

Mine grew out of it, kinda........now she only eats the other dogs fresh ones.......

BobbinThreadbare123 · 06/04/2022 21:05

Meh, my old terrier scoffed any and all crap (mostly own) and lived to late teens. No training seemed to work. No harm done, just gross!

SaxendaSummer · 06/04/2022 21:06

ours often sicks it back up....delightful!

Iamkmackered1979 · 06/04/2022 21:07

Yep mine did that. Ended up taking him out on lead for toilet and making sure it was picked up asap as it’s foul
Poo breath
Urgh
He did grow out of it thankfully

SprayedWithDettol · 06/04/2022 21:10

Dogs. You’ve got to love them. Pica is a very common behaviour in dogs. My advice is to pick up poo as soon as it’s done. Not always easy but it is the only sure fire way to stop it.

fairylightsandwaxmelts · 06/04/2022 21:34

Mine never ate his own poo but he delights in a feast of sheep poo and cow pats when we walk through the fields 🤮

TeesandCees · 06/04/2022 21:37

Hmm mixed bag here.

We distract her when we take her out, but she's still small and does it overnight in kitchen and if I leave her for an hour or so. So I can't monitor those Sad

Mine only likes sheep poo.

WhenDovesFly · 06/04/2022 21:49

Yeah mine did it too. He grew out of it after a little while. You just have to do your best to keep an eye out and get there quickly to clear it up.

Okeydoky · 06/04/2022 21:51

Try adding Pro Fibre to meals. It often helps.

Sweetleftfood · 07/04/2022 11:53

Mine grew out of it but can find human poo in the park to eat Envy boak ......
