Anyone bought a puppy from Kennel Club website?

I’m trying to find a poodle puppy (not a cross breed), I’ve been using Kennel Club’s Find a Puppy website but I have no idea how they vet the adverts (if they do at all), and googling the names of the breeders brings up nothing.

Has anyone used them before?

Unless it’s changed recently. Their website is or was, just an advertising portal for people who are KC registered and agree to their breeding terms.
It brings a little bit of reassurance, but you still need to do your own research and checks as you would if you were buying them from anywhere else.

Try champdogs

Though poodle litters a very few and far between at the moment

Yep, ChampDogs is the place to start
www.champdogs.co.uk/

But as @mintbiscuit says, you may be in a for a long wait for a puppy.

Thanks! I’m not in any rush so happy to wait, just trying to find some breeders as I know they sometimes have waiting lists. Thanks I’ll try Champ Dogs!

Ring the secretaries of the breed clubs. You can find their contact details on the Kennel Club website.

I found my standard poodle by looking at the assures breeder, then visiting the breeders website. She discussed the health tests she did on the website - way beyond those required to be an assured breeder.
I googled the breeder's prefix and was able to see she was well established in the breed.
I phone and chatted with her and she asked a lot of questions. I was then invited to join her Facebook group. I then waited and waited till she had a litter. She then contacted me to offer me a puppy.
Took me about a year in total.
