Dog suddenly become really fussy with food.

Could really do with some opinions. We have a 10 year old Llasa who has always had the same food which is hi life semi moist food, it looks like mince, not the chunks. This is the only dog food she's ever eaten. She will happily eat human food. She has gradually been going off it, she picks at it. So today i thought I'd get her some wet food but she's not touched it. She would happily eat chicken, beef etc but not dog food, does anyone have any suggestions?

Tummy upset, give her some chicken and rice for 24 hrs.

If she doesn't touch that - off to the vet!

My dogs periodically go off their food. But would always chomp down on something homecooked (indicating not ill).

Any other signs though like bloatedness, panting, pacing or fatigue, shaking, tucking tail in, behavioural change eg more aggressive/snarling etc call the vet ASAP.

If she's her usual self though try the chicken and rice (or pasta).

P.s sometimes companies change the ingredients- this happened to me with James Wellbeloved. It was a tiny change but dog refused it. Guess because it didn't seem right? Swapped to something completely different (chicken to lamb) and they were fine.

This is not sudden, maybe slowly over the last month or two, and she if begging more, which is why I tried her on something different, otherwise she is her normal self.

My dog gets bored easily and what you've described is he reacts when he's fed up with his food. Trial and error to find him something he likes.

If you think he's well then I'd keep trying with different foods to tempt. Cheese is a good one!

Of course as per pp any signs of illness a vet trip. But might be a good idea to try chicken and rice,l regardless, might like the change
