Hello!
I'm interested in a puppy that is a french bulldog x springer spaniel. Very aware all dogs are different but just wondering if anyone has this cross and what their temperament is like. Always love a dog pic so feel free to include yours! :)

Believe me, I spent a significant proportion of my working day considering the health issues of french bulldogs. You can literally look at the shape of a puppy's head and the length of it's nose to make an accurate assessment of future health problems. Think I will rely on my veterinary degree and 20 years experience over your opinion.

I’ve got a French bulldog springer cross( mum was a Frenchie)
he is a lovely dog, hard to train as not into food. But no health issues. Hates water so can be stubborn as a Frenchie when it comes to going out in the rain. But he has stacks of energy and can run for hours. He is on insta frankiethefrenchspaniel if you wanna see some pics

French Bulldogs are a really unhealthy breed, so I guess crossing with a Springer would make it healthier.

As a lifetime gundog owner I wonder why this was thought a good cross. It's not only health but widely different personality traits, which can lead to behavioural problems.

If your good experience was with a lab x collie, I would look for another similar cross if I were you. I'm a collie person, but I can imagine that having lab parent would take some of the intensity out of the pup and give a nice family dog.

Collies/labs/spaniels/shepherds and crosses thereof would be my choice and it would always be a rescue.

Why would you balls up a springer with a Frenchie? A couple of jags of Alizin went begging there for sure. Loads of Frenchies are atopic now and simply crossing with something that's practically a different species won't magic that away.

I would absolutely not buy anything mixed with a French bulldog , or a French bulldog due to the huge health issues

That is not responsible breeding

What a ridiculous pairing of breeds.

Sorry .

I googled how it could look like, and I think there may be one in my local park. As far as I know, he's a very good boy.
I don't like frenchies because of their health issues, but in terms of temperament, all I've met were very good natured dogs.
Likewise for cocker spaniels (although a bit crazy but good crazy if it makes sense).
