I don't have a dog but I am really enjoying it! It is working on me!

I do. She's under a blanket snoring away and I can feel my eyes closing too.

Volterra · 06/11/2021 18:54

Yes and am falling asleep !

shakingmytambourineatyou · 06/11/2021 18:54

Tried it but our dog refuses to be calmed. The dh is treating it like a baby and cuddling it. On the new sofa.

AlwaysLatte · 06/11/2021 18:57

Yes! Although our 11 week old had been out in the garden with fireworks in the distance (no one is very close to us) and not batted an eyelid!

MadisonAvenue · 06/11/2021 19:00

No, we tried last night and it did nothing to help him unfortunately.

Mangofandangoo · 06/11/2021 19:03

Do fans help dogs? ( I suspect maybe not as their hearing is so good) they really help my DD sleep through loud outside noise

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 06/11/2021 19:03

We’ve got the curtains closed and we’re watching Wales v South Africa in the rugby autumn internationals. The roar of the fans seems to be drowning out the worst of the fireworks noise.

Mantlemoose · 06/11/2021 19:03

No but only because these two hooligans are the first dogs we've had not to be phased by fireworks. All others were drugged up, much easier.

howdidigettobe50something · 06/11/2021 19:09

I googled 'calming music for anxious dogs' and am playing the music loudly to try to drown out the fireworks! One of my poor staffies is very distressed by them 😥

RandomMess · 06/11/2021 19:29

Apparently someone has posted that listening to Tailko Drumming is the answer!

Scattyhattie · 06/11/2021 19:49

My current dogs aren't bothered by fireworks and still want to go out walking, but we've had classic FM on and they've been very relaxed, as have I.

Previous dogs that were shaking with fear liked to retreat into a dark covered crate/den and felt safe enough in there to relax and sleep. It certainly makes fireworks seem less fun when experience their distress.

JaffavsCookie · 06/11/2021 19:51

I have it on for my horses, i think it may be helping a little but they are fairly unsettled 😢

fedupofbuilders · 06/11/2021 20:07

Classic FM has too many ad breaks
Status Quo is the way to go - continuous heavy drum beat!

SmallPrawnEnergy · 06/11/2021 20:09

I’m really lucky ours is ok with fireworks. He’s currently asleep on the floor upside.

Postdatedpandemic · 06/11/2021 20:14

DDog was not at all keen on pastoral music, she does however enjoy learning Icelandic. So we have two YouTube channels going and I don't understand a word but DDog is calm.

tabulahrasa · 06/11/2021 20:19

I tried it last night, but they kept playing an ad with a dog barking... my dog hasn’t worked out that radio and tv things aren’t there... so...

I had to turn over.

TreeFella · 06/11/2021 20:21

No, we've got 90s dancehall classics on at the moment which is working a treat for me and the dog Grin

MrsLargeEmbodied · 06/11/2021 20:21

the ads are annoying i agree,
i read about taiko drumming

does anyone have a link?

dont think i coudl bear status quo

Thankfully ddog is fast asleep this evening

I've got Classic FM on the Alexa in the hallway, a den built, the washing machine and tumble dryer have been going all night, the telly on louder than usual and mine is still pacing/ shaking/ probably going to have a wee explosion soon. I much prefer it when it's pouring down on Bonfire night weekend, I'm hoping for rain on NYE too!

RandomMess · 06/11/2021 21:12

It's blowing a gale here tonight so the big town display cancelled but another one has gone ahead. Fortunately further away than last night so ddog snoozing through it!
