Harness for Italian Greyhound Cross

I have an Italian greyhound/whippet cross. I can't find a harness that works for him. Can anyone recommend any for that type of breed?

I have a very small build greyhound and we use one of these for her:

Have a look at Perfect Fit. You can buy the pieces individually to get a tailored fit. My last Lurcher had a super deep rib cage, but really narrow chest. He needed one of the smallest front pieces (only went up one size, still in a small, even as an adult) a medium back piece and xl girth strap. They’re fleece lined, so even with his really fragile greyhound type skin it never chafed or rubbed.

They have a breed/size guide but the staff are also really helpful and will advise based on your dog’s individual measurements and will exchange and replace any pieces that don’t fit.

Perfect fit.
They are so good. Do the measurements. Ring them abs they’ll send you the selection of parts that they think is best. If it isn’t right they’ll send you other bits to fit in and out till sorted then you send the spares back.

Is he crossed with something else somewhere down the line? 🤔 never seen an iggy/whippet with longer hair on the tail and face like that!

Thanks for the thread! Useful for my family who have iggys/whippets too!Smile

Stuffragette · 18/09/2021 11:47

@Trinacham
He's definitely got some lurcher in him I think as he can be quite shaggy if we live his fur to grow, he's basically a mutt , but a v sweet one! He has quite a few whiskers.

I have a fleece Y shaped harness and a harness from Red Dingo that work really well for our IG if you don’t want to spend to much. He has a Ruffwear harness which is a good fit too. Look at the trendy whippet website.

Soubriquet · 18/09/2021 15:47

Perfect fit without a doubt!

They are fab with helping you get the correct measurements and will exchange it if it’s wrong

Plus all the colours are a bonus

FlemishHorse · 18/09/2021 15:48

@Stuffragette What a handsome chap, there’s a touch of terrier there I reckon!

Fishlegs · 18/09/2021 19:13

My whippet was a master of escape from the perfect fit harness (although it fitted him well), so we have a Haqihana double h harness which fits him perfectly and despite his best efforts he hasn’t escaped from it yet.

Brollywasntneededafterall · 18/09/2021 19:43

Ah lovely op!!
Bit like my Lurchers but with a bit more weight!!

Stuffragette · 19/09/2021 12:36

@Fishlegs I'll have a look into one of those. My dog escaped from his crappy harness today and went bonkers at the squirrels in the park.

@Brollywasntneededafterall gorgeous dogs. I really want another but dh won't let me.

Cosydog harnesses are great. Work out your measurements and they will make it to fit

Brollywasntneededafterall · 20/09/2021 08:01

They are dm and dd!! Accidental owners of the dm but what a delight!!
