Would you share pics of your (mineable) puppy dens?

Hi everyone,

We are getting a puppy in a few weeks and we are reading the Steve Mann puppy book, he keeps talking about taking the den in the car, upstairs, downstairs, hiding treats in it, etc.

I can’t really imagine what sort of den he is taking about that you would be able to move around the house/car with ease. Would this be a customized crate or are there ready to buy dens out there?

If you one such den, would you share a picture?

Thanks Smile

Flipping autocorrect, I meant moveable, not mineable!

Does he mean a crate..?
Unless the dog is tiny (my new one is) a crate isn’t easily moveable!
My older dog is around 15kg so not that big but her crate is heavy and a PITA to fold up and put up again.

I wonder if he means a mat?
That you could easily put in different rooms, the cars etc

We have this one www.amazon.co.uk/XianghuangTechnology-Portable-Foldable-Playpen-Outdoor/dp/B08KY84JXR/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?dchild=1&psc=1&keywords=soft%2Bdog%2Bpen&th=1&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&qid=1630557236&sr=8-4

It’s very light/foldable and easy to move, but too big to have it as a car crate.

In any event, our dog sleeps in our bed Blush

Thank you very much to both of you. I guess something like that Amazon link might work. The puppy is not going to be big, expected adult weight around 6-7kg.

Look at getting a cat carrier, suitable for use in a car. You can secure in place with a seatbelt - I think it's nicer for a dog to travel in than a seat harness, though you might need one of those too if you need all the seats for humans.

Cat carriers are usually certified for creatures up to 7kg and are big enough to turn round in for little dogs.

You might however want to have a slightly larger crate as well, or use travel crate (door open) in a puppy proof room that is stairgated off from the rest of the house
