Finally coming home day is just around the corner! We’ve waited 4 years for this breeder, so it’s been a long time coming. We’ve even agreed on a name, which was beginning to feel like it was never going to happen.
We’ve got his crate and some toys, water / food bowl, his collar and lead. Going to get his tag tomorrow. Insurance is in hand, just got to go through the quotes and choose which one is best.
I’m sure reality will bring me crashing back to earth but for now… hurry up Wednesday!

How exciting. Hope it comes round fast for you. What kind of pup are you getting?

Kanaloa · 13/08/2021 17:57

Lovely! What name have you gone for? Waiting for so long will only increase your enjoyment, you can be comfortable that you’ve done the right thing and waited for a proper breeding - it’s easy to get a puppy quickly so by waiting you’ve shown your dedication.

How exciting! What name have you chosen OP?

wetotter · 13/08/2021 18:21

Remember to get Gin and enzyme cleaning spray!

Its so exciting!

Do you have photos?

He’s a working cocker, going to be trained as an assistance dog for my DD. It’s taken forever to choose a name - partly because we couldn’t agree but also because DD’s disabilities affect her speech so we had to also find a name she can say! He’s going to be Leo. He’s an adorable little lad, really playful as you’d expect but somehow seems to already know that he needs to sit a bit more calmly with DD. I’m hoping that he’ll be my running buddy too in a couple of years.

Awww how exciting! I have a cocker and he is the soppiest dog I've ever met or even heard of in my life, soft as anything and absolutely LOVES people Grin super easy to train too.

I'm sure Leo will be a fab addition to your family and he'll take good care of DD!

Amazing! I have 2 cockers. The youngest is a worker. She is amazing with my ds (ND).

I personally think their ears are therapy on themselves!! I’m obviously hoping that the assistance training works and he is helpful for DD, if not I’m quite happy to play / walk / stroke the cute ears all by myself!

Weird thing is that I’m not even a dog person… but this lad is special.

Ooh wonderful ... such a gorgeous and clever breed 🐾

Kanaloa · 14/08/2021 11:27

How cute. I wanted Leo for my little boy but we have a niece with a very similar name so it was sadly out! Lovely name for your puppy, hopefully he will be a massive help and comfort for your daughter.

BabbleBee · 14/08/2021 16:15

We’ve had our final meeting with him today before coming home next week. Oh my days! DD was starting to struggle with being somewhere new (even though we’ve been before!) and he just sat on her lap so still just looking at her! She stroked him and played with his ears and calmed down really quickly… oh I’m so happy Star
