And I cried.
I'm 42, I've always wanted a dog, I've never had one and when he was put in my arms I totally welled up.
Just wanted to share as I'm so excited and happy.

That’s so lovely ☺️, what sort of pup are you getting, how old is he/she?

I have a litter who are just about to leave, when I was interviewing their perspective families several of them broke down in tears when I said they could have one ( I have a rare breed, some people have waited years for a pup). It’s very emotional finding the right home for pups.

cheeseisthebest · 10/07/2021 22:38

It's a shitzu, he will be 10 weeks old when we bring him home.
He was so chilled and lovely, the whole litter were. I know that will change but he feels a part of our family already.

Congratulations on your new fur baby 🌸💕🎉

cheeseisthebest · 10/07/2021 22:39

Oh it must be so emotional!
What type of dog is yours?

Thank you queenbee we are all so happy. Going to buy some bits tomorrow that we still need.

I couldn’t hold back the tears when I met my first pup.
Good luck op.
If you’re on FB then the puppy files in dog training advice and support are BRILLIANT!!

Thewolfsjustapuppy · 10/07/2021 22:41

Mine are Irish terriers. It’s mayhem in my house at the moment, they are not calm or quiet and they will only get more boisterous. I blummin love them!

cheeseisthebest · 10/07/2021 22:44

Thank you both!
Yep I know it will get crazy but oh I can't stop that thinking about that amazing moment. I didn't have that when either of my children were born (long story!) So was a lot of emotion building up!

OP posts:
cheeseisthebest · 10/07/2021 22:44

But I also feel terrible guilt about taking him away from his mum and his brothers and sisters! He will be so loved though, no matter how crazy and exhausting it gets!

I know the feeling. We're bringing home our chichon in 7 weeks and I can't wait. It's going to be like having a baby again.

Thewolfsjustapuppy · 10/07/2021 22:46

If there is a dog spaced hole in your heart it’s a magic feeling to fill it.

Any photos 😆😆😆😆

Wolfiefan · 10/07/2021 22:56

By the time he leaves his mum will likely be quite glad of the break!! Each puppy should have an adoring family (of slaves) like yours!
I’ve stayed in contact with brothers and sisters of my pups. It’s lovely.

cheeseisthebest · 10/07/2021 23:00

@Parsley1234

Any photos 😆😆😆😆
Bit outing! Would love too though! Still need a name!

cheeseisthebest · 10/07/2021 23:01

Oh that's nice Wolfiefan I hasn't thought of being in contact with the other new owners.

Wolfiefan · 10/07/2021 23:03

I actually had a lovely evening with brother and sister of my eldest dog in a pub the other night. Their owner/slave is lovely too!!

RuddyHellItsSoftCell · 10/07/2021 23:06

My puppy has shih tzu in him and you can tell with how he looks. I think they’re fab dogs

Thewolfsjustapuppy · 10/07/2021 23:07

A lot of the families of my pups are already in contact and planning to stay in touch. They are spread all over the country so social media helps a lot.

MeredithMae · 11/07/2021 19:43

Yep, I was a wreck when I met my first baby too! I also felt guilty about taking him away from his mum!
