Instead of jn the garden! She’s been fab so far but the last few days she’s taken to weeing inside the open back door! What’s that about?

Do you use an enzyme cleaner to clean up after she’s weed? They can still smell it even if we can’t and think it’s their place to go. We use Simple Solution which smells amazing too! Also, is she maybe going to the back door to ask to go out but you’re not quite noticing in time if you’re busy? Could you leave the back door open?

Oh sorry I missed that the back door was open 🙈

You need to keep the door closed so she understands the difference between indoors and outdoors.

The open door means the boundaries are blurred in her head. I know it's frustrating to have to have the door closed in summer though!

Agree the door needs to be closed so that when it's time to wee you actually have to take her into the garden and stay with her until she'd weed, rather than hoping she'll take herself there; she's too young to have worked out that outside is the place to wee.

How often are you taking her out?

Ahh that makes sense. We are in the garden all the time and the back door is really the patio door which is bifold and slid right back. So yes maybe she doesn’t know if she’s in or out. Doh! All poos are on grass though so that’s good.

Don't worry it's an easy mistake to make!

Just keep the door closed so she can't run between the two - you could use a baby gate or something if you want to keep the door open?

She needs to get into the habit of asking to go out.
