Does this dog look like a .... or an....? Or another name entirely?

Friend has got a new dog and is struggling to fix on a name. She's a 7 month old Highland Maltie ( Westie Maltese cross) and is very pretty, loving and feisty. She's a real livewire!
I have suggested two names... Mabel (because he got her in May and the second half of Mabel sounds like belle ie. beautiful) or
Sylvie because this means 'from the forest' and I think she looks like a little woodland creature.
Foxy has been ruled out because although she looks a little like an Arctic Fox my friend wants a name that clearly denotes her sex.

What do we think of these names? Or can any one suggest anything else? I promise to let you know what he chooses in the end smile

Fox is such a lovely name! Never mind... I don't think a twee name would suit her somehow. Does it have to be a person's name?

It's good seeing what others think. Heidi is cute! Not sure about Alaska as it doesn't sound distinctly female, at least to me. Dot is cute but I think he's after a name that is a bit sing-songy iyswim, so maybe two syllables. Crystal makes me think of Crystal Carrington (showing my age here... ha ha!) No, it doesn't have to be a person's name but I think it needs to be feminine because he doesn't want to be asked constantly whether his dog's male or female.

Alba, means white, and also Scotland

She looks like an Isla or a Luna to me. Isla is popular in both Scotland and Malta, meaning island and is the name of a Scottish river. Luna means moon and links to her colour.
