What were the signs your dog was coming into season?

My female cockapoo is 9mths and the last few days she's seems tired, poos have been a bit inconsistent, wanting lots of cuddles and belly rubs. Yesterday my friends male dog showed more interest in her then normal. Could these be the signs? She is also scratching more then normal.

Peeing more often on walks was the first sign.
Then her back end started swelling up - she looked like a baboon once her season got going.

She was moody. Grumbled when we picked her up. It was PMS!

Good luck OP. The season is hard! Get her some little underwear & give her lots of love... she’ll be ok.

Ah OK thank you. I will keep an eye on her. I'm enjoying the cuddles but she seems so sad. It's hard to tell whether it's that or if she's just not feeling well.

Our dog was the opposite she was on hyper alert and unsettled; barking at the drop of a hat. Then vulva began to swell and she was licking herself a lot.

Ah she seems more alerts but had been last few weeks.
