Anyone ever had someone pay a deposit on a pup then they get a bad feeling
How do you go about letting them down and not selling the pup?
Obviously I would give back deposit

Its the life of an animal at stake, so please don’t sell him/ her to anyone you are not sure of for any reason.

AvocadosBeforeMortgages · 28/12/2020 23:43

What's the bad feeling based on?

MrsEricBana · 28/12/2020 23:45

I think trust your gut. Say I'm so sorry but the puppy is no longer available and return the deposit straight away.

DieHardIsAXmasMovie · 28/12/2020 23:47

Please don't give them the pup if you're not 100% sure that they're genuine Sad

HappyRaven · 28/12/2020 23:51

Just tell them you changed your mind. Don't sell to them if you are unsure. You may regret it forever, i know i still do.
Tell them you have changed your mind.

Ilovethesummertime · 29/12/2020 02:30

Thanks all

Its not that i think the pup is in danger by going to them, its just an unesy feeling i get which ive not felt from any of the other families who have paid deposits.
I would prefer to keep as i don’t feel they would think twice of selling on when they get fed up etc...
i am not sure what my rights are in changing my mind

Please go with your gut, it’s never wrong, just refund the money you don’t owe them your puppy just because they have paid a deposit, they are hardly likely to drag you through the courts! Just say you have decided to keep him for yourself if you must give a reason.

Walkintal · 29/12/2020 02:47

If they take you to court for breach of contract, they can only claim a financial loss. Assuming you pay back the deposit, there is minimal/no loss.

Ilovethesummertime · 29/12/2020 03:08

Yes of course i will absolutely be paying them their deposit back
Im just worried they may want to cause trouble or be annoyed

OP posts:
ZaraCarmichaelshighheels · 29/12/2020 03:17

So what if they are annoyed? what “trouble” could they actually cause? and if they actually did cause trouble then it proves your gut reaction to them was valid. Don’t be scared of these people OP you are doing the right thing by your puppy, be strong on their behalf, you are all they have.

Ilovethesummertime · 29/12/2020 03:24

Thanks op
I have no idea maybe im just being silly/ worried i am new to this it was accidental mating and i have had to learn as ive gone and google everything
But i am really attached to these babies now id keep them all if I could and i want to make sure they go to nice families.
I just wanted some opinions and to make sure im within my rights to change my mine on the sale.

krustykittens · 29/12/2020 03:28

Don't do it. Any worries at all, pull out of the sale and find a home you feel better about. If you give the deposit back than no harm done.

Catsup · 29/12/2020 04:16

As you're not running a breeder business I'd honestly just message and say 'I'm really sorry but pup seems to be having some health difficulties, therefore in good consciousness I feel we are no longer able to sell and will be keeping the dog ourselves now. Obviously we will be refunding your deposit to you. Thank you'. Job done! Not something they can argue against, and if they're dodge they'll not push to take on a sick pup.

Catsup · 29/12/2020 04:29

And if they ask what condition say epilepsy or a heart condition. Both would veto them as breeding stock, and a pre insurance diagnosis would make them invalid so meds would cost a fortune. Honestly they'll be happy to just back out of a sale.

Ilovethesummertime · 29/12/2020 09:04

Great thank you @catsup
