High liver enzymes in 10 year old Westie

Hoping someone else can share experiences, DDog went in for surgery to remove a large lump on his head (benign) and had a routine blood test beforehand which revealed liver enzymes were sky high. Vets put him on a special liver supplement for a month, minor improvements but not much. They’ve tested for Cushings via urine and a couple of other more complex tests, all come back negative. Now three months on and enzymes are still high. Vets now want to do an eight hour test of some sort, and if that’s negative then liver biopsy, either by large needle (risk of internal bleeding) or open surgery. In himself, he seems absolutely fine, apart from some arthritis. BUT, we don’t know if something nasty is building up under the surface that could result in liver failure.
Has anyone experienced similar? Also what liver supplements have you used? Vet hasn’t suggested any others, just not to use the one that didn’t work.

My golden has slightly high liver enzymes. Had blood tests 3 months apart and they stayed the same. Only thing I've changed is added a milk thistle supplement (Denes)

Not any help I know. Really hope you find an answer for your boy.

Thanks @RedRiverHog, really don’t want any surgical options for him if possible.
