Mine has, quite incredible to watch them playing together 🥰

He has the aspiration for one but she views him as immature and giddy 😂

Stellaris22 · 22/10/2020 19:21

Yep. They love play fighting, chasing and getting jealous if the other one has a stick. They run round with a stick to make the other one jealous. When they see each other their tails start wagging and if we are at the park and her friend isn't there she's visibly upset and looks for him.

She's sociable and will happily play with any dog, she's just a lovely, friendly and happy dog.

Svelteinmydreams · 22/10/2020 19:44

Gosh yes. Met as puppies, now elderly gents. A bit unsteady on their feet but always thrilled to meet.

Hoppinggreen · 22/10/2020 19:47

Yes, same breed 6 months age difference
They are both big boys and it looks like they are trying to kill eachother when playing but they aren’t
Friend lives opposite and they go past on their walks and he comes to call for my Ddog by barking outside our front door.
The same people have a slightly older female of the same breed and she watches them play with a eye roll and a “stupid boys” look on her face!

Tara336 · 22/10/2020 19:51

Yes, I have a small crossbreed his best friend is a very large retriever, they go crazy when they see each other and play for ages if you let them, it’s so sweet to watch

CaptainMyCaptain · 22/10/2020 19:58

My ndn has a Romanian rescue, a former street dog, when she arrived we were worried there would be fireworks with my feisty Jack Russell. It was love at first sight, they are soul mates and always team up together on walks.

averylongtimeago · 22/10/2020 19:59

Yes. Our goldie was best friends with our neighbours dog - which was a sort of Jack Russell type. He would call for her by scritching on the door or she would wait on their door step and then they would play growl chase, bitey face or king of the castle for hours.
Unfortunately he had to be rehomed after he killed one too many of our other neighbours chickens...
Ddog still waits at the top of their drive, watching their front door just in case.

User07 · 22/10/2020 20:23

Yes! She is an older lady now and is not mad on many dogs at all but shes been best friends with my mil dog since she was a puppy and mil dog was 2 years. They really love each. Makes doggy care for either side very easy!

Juanbablo · 05/11/2020 06:23

I think our puppy would be friends with anyone that gives him the time of day. But he particularly adores my friend's spaniel because he will wrestle and run around with him.

vanillandhoney · 05/11/2020 07:04

Yep - my SIL's husky.

If they spot each other they both go absolutely bonkers and they'll play for hours if we let them Grin

Cosmos45 · 05/11/2020 07:07

My dog has a best friend, they are adorable together and totally love each other to bits. It’s so sweet

itstrue · 05/11/2020 07:22

Yes! My toy poodle and my friends labrador love each other. They do a little dance when they see each other and then usually spend their time chasing each other!

thegirlsallgrowedupnow · 05/11/2020 08:06

My Springer Cross is best friends with a Patterdale Cross , they used to constantly play on a walk when they were pups but now potter together and have short bursts of activity. My girl is pretty relaxed around male dogs not so much around other bitches sadly.

picklemewalnuts · 05/11/2020 08:11

What a lovely thread! My boy had a best friend but she grew up and turned her nose up at him. He'll play with anyone who asks though, and is particularly well suited for a romp with one of two of them.

FurryTurnipHead · 05/11/2020 08:17

God, I must be a bit emotionally unstable, because this thread has made me cry.
Especially @svelteinmydreams and the two wobbly old chaps.

GrumpyMiddleAgedWoman · 05/11/2020 10:58

Dog2 and Dog3 are best mates, though Dog2 is in charge.

Dog1 used to be in love with a lab bitch, but then the family got another dog and he was usurped. He is still unhappy about this and sulks when he sees her.

40somethingJBJ · 06/11/2020 20:22

Yes, my old girl isn’t the most playful dog, and largely tries to round up other dogs, but my friend has a miniature daschund and she adores him. They play and wrestle for hours when he comes to stay and she always looks for him when we go on the park. If my friend walks past my house, her dog stops still outside and barks until my dog jumps up to window to see him. It’s a beautiful friendship :)

nixso29 · 06/11/2020 20:31

My little grumbly yorkie girl and the NDN yorkie male were the best of friends, I still haven't been able to break the news to her yet that he went to rainbow Bridge last week :(

Poshjock · 08/11/2020 15:40

Yep. Same breed, different colour and only a few weeks between them in age. The play quite boisterous with each other and are so happy when they see each other.

Ellmau · 08/11/2020 15:53

Our sheltie was BFFs with a rottweiler.

StillMedusa · 09/11/2020 22:11

My Eurasier loves a Cockerpoo.. they met when he was 5 months and she was 10 months.. instant friendship.
She went off him during her second season and we were both sad, but now she is back to loving him again.. which means her running up to him barking and looking terrifying...then they chase each other, he teases her with sticks he finds. They roll and chase and pounce.

Neither of them plays with any other dog as they do each other. They sound and look terrifying mid play but they are bestest of best friends!

Festivecheer26 · 09/11/2020 22:31

@FurryTurnipHead me too! Especially at @averylongtimeago’s pup still looking for his friend who’s moved away. I hope they get to meet again.

MrsDoctorDear · 09/11/2020 22:46

@nixso29 that's so sad ☹️

My boy wants to play with everyone in the park. He has a proper bestie who belongs to a family member. They take turns having sleepovers. It's full on playtime, afterwards he sleeps solid for 2 days.
We get the quilt out, toys and treats. I did try and make them watch Secret Life of Pets but they weren't interestedGrin

BestIsWest · 10/11/2020 08:47

No best friend but they both adore a white standard poodle girl. She is twice their size but they are so delighted when they see her. I don’t blame them, she is gorgeous.
