After years and years of wanting a pup we are finally in a position to have time for one and are on a waiting list for a boxer pup!!!!!!!! Likely to be jan/Feb before we get him/her. Sooooooooo excited! Any early tips?

Iv just joined a list for a golden retriever, due in December so late jan/feb to collect. I’m so nervous and excited but need to save the money first 😂😩

Read the Crate training thread.
Stick to the brand and flavour of food the breeder uses, only feed from the dogs bowl.
Routine is key.
All agree on commands, rewards
Get them used to different experiences, car travel etc
Take the dog where ever you go.
Just enjoy

... adopt, don't buy is my only advice.

I did this earlier this year and remember how excited I was - so lovely! My best advice is to do research into how you want to bring the puppy up. You'll be surprised how much controversy there is around all sorts of things like food, crates, harnesses, neutering, so it's a good idea to read around all of that beforehand so you feel informed. Join some Facebook sites for your breed and puppies generally and have a look on puppy training on Youtube. There is loads of free advice around. Good luck!
