Hi
I bought a puppy from my cousin who lives in Utah for 5 months ago. I paid $2200 inclusive transport. She came to Sweden(where I live) to work the summer season and took the puppy with her to me.
She gave me a pedigree kennel paper and told me to wait before I register the puppy in my name, and there's wasn't any ownership transfer signature to my name. The paper hasn't any value. I confronted her a few days ago and she gets furious and told me I didn't pay for the puppy. My husband sends her a $1000 check and transfers $1000 more, then I transfer $220 more for the transport.
I figured she doesn't have any license to run a dog breed kennel and that's why can't sign the ownership transfer papers.
I have the puppy's vaccination card, passport, vet inspection, and other papers on him.
I would like to report her for been running an illegal dog breed kennel but don't know where? Also would be thankful if someone has any experience on how to own your own puppy? How do I do?
Truly thankful for any answers

Three litters in one year??
Erm what now?

Floralnomad · 30/08/2020 15:22

Can you not get another family member to intervene ?

fivedogstofeed · 30/08/2020 15:25

I have read your posts thanks, but I don't understand how you imported a dog into Sweden with out him being registered to you. Maybe this is irrelevant, feel free to ignore me.

“but I don't understand how you imported a dog into Sweden with out him being registered to you.”

He wasn’t transported as such, the cousin who bred him, flew with him.

That’s how I’m reading it anyway.

Thank you so much to be understanding. I feel like no one's in my side. Some nights I'm sitting in my porch, crying and my sweet Dodge (my puppy) run to me an place his face into my lap, like he knows my worries. The reason I'm searching for clue is to make things right, but guess it's dificult for others to be in my shoes, and that's ok.
Guess this piece of paper is telling it all. Found it now together with the other papers.

Hope you're ok nnnnnnnn. If your uncle is willing to buy Dodge so you don't have to sell him that sounds a good option perhaps?

Tes it is.
I've got an answer today from AKC asking me to scan all the papers she gave me cuz they couldn't find her name in their register. Not weird at all, she never register a singel litter. So I'm doing it today

Thank you all for your support!

Basically she wants to have proof she owns him and he’s KC registered so she can make as much as possible selling him at 5mths old.
Selling your dog to fund a solicitor
is pretty callous, but sadly he won’t go through rescue as he’s just a source of money to OP.
If you love your dog you’d find another way to fund your divorce.

Yes, that's what I'm telling.
As I said, I trusted in her, wouldn't you? She grows up with me and my 4 siblings

I've never sold a dog in Sweden but I did bring 2 over from the UK. We registered them with the kommun without any problems. We didn't have proof of ownership beyond their pet passports. I wonder if you're getting misinformation from somewhere.

Wolfiefan · 02/09/2020 09:18

Yes @SBTLove I completely agree. Poor dog. Sad
