Currently managing an anxious dpuppy with separation anxiety due to bloody Covid 19!!
Today on YouTube I discovered ddoggy TV!! Music especially for ddogs!! Dpuppy sat transfixed!! Managed to make lunch - and eat it - while she sat cuddled on her cosy blanket in the other room!
Small step people but a step never the less!!
Typed in music for ddogs. Offered lots of selections for calming /stress /anxiety and more!!

I remember the same feeling when my clingy baby discovered Baby Tv!

We got her before CV and she has never been alone (our other ddogs don't cut it for reassuring her it seems).. Having to schedule teens in for ddoggy minding atm. Nightmare.
Need ear plugs for hideous music now not ddog barking!

Mine prefers heart 80s when I leave him.

I just tried that dog tv and he was totally unimpressed

There's a dog calming thing on Alexa but ddog was singularly unimpressed when we put it on for him.

I leave the tv on if I’m going to be less than an hour. If anymore I leave the radio on.

I remember thinking back in the day my dm was bonkers for leaving the radio on for our ddog!!

Should have know dpuppy was interested in the TV by the amount of remote controls she has eaten...

Just Googled music for Dogs and it came up with a few.

One I listened to made me feel like grinding my teeth but I'm currently listening to TV for Dogs. I have no idea what my dog would make of it as she's taken herself upstairs and is asleep under the spare bed.

I however, love it. The music is gentle and sentimental. Combined with the film of two happy spaniels having a lovely time on a beautiful beach and I'm hooked. It's made me feel quite emotional tbh.

Maybe it should be renamed 'TV for dogs and sentimental old dog lovers'.

I suspect my dog would turn her nose up at it, but I'm certainly finding it very relaxing.

Usually mid morning zoomies going on - - currently all activities are on hold...

Is 49 too young for a nap myself??

I have no advice re the separation anxiety but your dogs look so gorgeous and peaceful.

They are all really very chilled except dpuppy.
I am hoping her greyhound genes take over soon and she calms down!!

Mine likes classical cello music! I tried so many things to stop him barking at every tiny little noise outside but still allow me to concentrate on work, and the only thing that works is really really deep cello.

I'm also very fond of classical cello music spiderlight so understand where your dog is coming from.

I know someone who's dog is a great opera lover.

Obviously some very cultured dogs out there.

Both my DDs sing and when they were younger they would practice in our living room.

One of my cats, when he heard them singing would rush from wherever he was, jump up onto the sofa and sit listening with his eyes closed. He also used to like to sit right beside the bottom of the piano when I used to play.

The other cat however, when anyone started singing would get up and leave the room.

If she didn't leave the room when I played the piano, she's sit beside me mewing.

I never worked out exactly, if she was joining in or protesting; I suspect though, it was the latter.

My dog likes true crime , he’s particularly fond of Murder by the Sea and It takes a Killer - hopefully he’s not just watching to get tips on how to murder us all in our beds one night .

Nah, Floralnomad, a dog wouldn't plot to kill their beloved human.

A cat however, I could believe would do it. A cat wouldn't just kill you in your bed. A cat would kill you and then eat you.

I must confess I left an old episode of The Bill running not too long go so ddog didn't miss the end. Dh looked sincerely concerned for my well being!!.

I’m really happy for you and ddog, OP, but please be more careful with the remotes. If ddog swallows a battery it will be catastrophic for him.

Ds had left it on the table. Now lives out of reach!!

My Greyhound can sleep for Scotland. It something to wake him up I need

'Music through a dog's ear' by Lisa Spector you can ask Alexa for it. Skooby knows when we are going out now as soon as we ask Alexa for it he hops up onto his raised bed. Supposed to be calming- works for us 😊

Thanks to this thread I've managed to do some uni work! Doggie tv is the best thing since telly tubbies ! Only problem was dog was snorting at the telly and woofing under her breath as she couldn't find the squirrel
