Who's walking early now the sun is back?

I went just after seven this morning and there were so many people out walking their dogs today. I was happy though as Bella got to play chase with a couple.
If you go early what time do you go in the evening?

When it's really hot I like to go at around 8am, and again at 6pm as it's just too hot for my dog before that. It's been really busy in my local woods too!

I went early today - about 6.30 - unfortunately the beach was absolutely covered in litter and food leftovers from people's barbecues yesterday, so my Labrador had a field day ...!

When it's hot like this, if someone is home with her all day (which they are at the moment, because the teens aren't at school), she doesn't get a second walk in the evening - she's 8, and one walk a day in the hot weather, plus unlimited company, is enough for her tbh. But when she was younger I'd take her after 8pm if it was as hot as this (mid to high 20s where I am).

Yeah, definitely. I try and be home by 8am when the weather is like this as it's just too hot otherwise - and mine struggles with the heat as it is! DH took the dog out at half five this morning.

I'm also a dog walker and I won't do day-time walks when it's this hot. I'll do walks pre-10am (so all dogs back home by 10) and then I'll start again at 4pm. If people insist on daytime visits then I'll do a quick toilet break and then I'll do "stay and play" with the dogs at home or in the garden.

As much as some people like to believe their dogs need several walks a day, it's just not necessary when it's this hot.

Husband has been out early doors today and I'll do the same tomorrow. Depending on the temp might just do some garden training later

I have 2 cavaliers and walk them about 6am and 10pm I’m really hot days.

I take mine to the beach for her big walk at 8pm ish.

It’s quieter then so she can have a good off lead blast and swim in the sea.

We have horses, and they’re out at night and in during the day at the moment so she comes with me at around 7am to bring them in and give them their breakfast. She then has a zoom around their field while I poo pick.

We’re really lucky at work as we have a big, securely fenced field out the back so I just open the fire escape door in my office and she has free run of it. I bought her a paddling pool at the weekend and put it in the field for her so she’s spending quite a lot of time splashing around in there at the moment

Grumpy person here! Got up at 5.30 to walk the dogs for 2 hours it was 24 degrees when I got back.

Forecast to be 27 degrees at 8.00 tonight so walk will have to be after that time or maybe they will forget about it......

When mine is at home we don't bother walking. He copes just fine and typically wants to crash out on a cold floor

When he is at dog walker they typically do cool woodland walks or splash about in the streams.

Neither me or the dog are morning people so we do our walk about 8pm or later depending on the temp.

Causing a bit of a nightmare as at about 6pm (usual walk time) he is getting restless and badgering next for a walk, but I’ll walk him to the end of the garden and he’ll be too hot and want to go back in.

7-8 in the morning on the fields mostly shaded by trees, I don't walk her at lunchtime as it's far too hot. Will see if she wants to go at 10 tonight but won't force her, she's in and out of the garden and her little pool so she's happy enough. It's only going to be for 2 or 3 days and then back to late teens/early 20°s so back to 3 walks a day

I didn't get out until 9 am and it was too late, already too hot.

Tomorrow I'm planning to be back home by 8am and then I have a "stay and play" with other dogs for work and I'll bring mine along too. The owner is setting up a paddling pool for them and I'm just spending an hour there to let them out to the toilet/clean up poo and keep them company.

It's going to be 28 degrees at 4pm tomorrow and way, way too hot and humid to risk taking the dogs anywhere.

DH Tom ours out at 6.30 this morning, we will take him again about 8 tonight into the woods where it’s nice and shady

I was out with them from 6:00 til 8:00 this morning. They had a paddle in a couple of streams too but it was pretty warm even by the time we got home. I doubt I'll go out again today.

We’ve not walked at all yet today. Ddog is 12 and seems to be suffering more from the heat the older she gets. She’s spent all day in a cool coat, on a cool mat in front of a fan, and she’s still looking uncomfortable. If it cools down this evening, we might have a wander to the park, but otherwise it won’t kill her to miss a day.

We are walking ours at 7:30 am and later in the evening once it's cooled down a bit. X
