Puppy in season

Please tell me my dog isn’t permanently changed!!!
She came on her first season on Monday (she’s 10 months old) and she’s been a nightmare. She’s barking at every noise (she only previously barked if someone knocked on the door or if she could hear another dog barking).
She’s up in the night barking at nothing and seems to be really struggling to chill out.

Please tell me that this is what happens while dogs are in season and that she’ll go back to normal soon.

I’ve had five female dogs and all had at least one season before spaying. None of mine was affected in any way, except the obvious physical signs. I’ve heard some become very clingy. Never heard of one starting to bark because they’re in season, remember this is a time of rapid maturing when all puppies are changing as they grow up.

My eight month old suddenly became really difficult on walks (pulling hard on the lead whilst walking and then desperate to get to people/dogs) and barking at our neighbour, then she came into season about ten days later. Now the first two weeks are over she's calming down again and is mostly back to her usual self. I was surprised how much the hormones affected her!

We've tried to be consistent with her, it must be unsettling for them too.
