Puppy pre 2nd vaccs using puppy sling tips

Shes a wiggly wee 3kg thing. 10 weeks. I want to take her out and about but how do you manage toileting if shes not supposed to.have paws on the floor?

Also managing the wriggling?

To get anywhere interesting it would be a short 10 to 15 min car journey first.

Shes meeting new people most days as we've just moved house and have got deliveries and people in and out.

We took him out the front and around the block prior to second jabs, vet said it was ok as long as he wasn’t in contact with unvaccinated dogs. 18 months later he’s fine

I popped mine down in the floor if and when they needed to go and picked them back up afterwards. I tried to take a sensible but relaxed approach so just tried to select spots where I didn't think too many other dogs had been.

I should have said only a few other dogs on my cup de sac and always picked him up if one was within sight. However he did yet friendly with all the neighbourhood kids!

We took ours to retail parks and sat with the car boot open so he could see/hear lots of things. Lots of people cans over to pet him. Also sat on benches in the middle to town watching traffic

I don’t think anyone really does no paws in the ground as presumably you allow your dog on the ground in your home and garden. In theory parvo can be carried in on anyone’s shoes but people don’t standardly take precautions against this. You need to be reasonable and balance the need for socialization and exercise versus the need to protect unvaccinated puppies. If there are no other dogs or their feces around, put her down and let her explore and go to the toilet. Also don’t let her drink from random puddles, etc.

We used a puppy sling and got wee'd on a few times!! We put a puppy pad at the bottom of the sling which helped a bit. We also would put him down periodically on grass to see if he needed a wee.

Socialisation is so important, we took our pup out every day and aimed to meet as many different people as possible. Standing outside supermarkets was a good one! Garden centres, dog friendly cafes and pet stores also good.

I have a miniature dachshund puppy and took her everywhere in her carrier. I'd pop her on the grass but was told to avoid areas near lamp posts etc where other dogs wee. The carrier i have has a firm bottom and a harness clip so she's really secure in there but can also see everything. She's 6 months now and not phased by much.

I pop them down if we've been out for a while, and use an antibac wipe on their paws after. Parvo is absolutely rife round here, and I take every precaution (shoes off in hall, antibac floor cleaner etc) with not fully vaccinated puppies as its heartbreaking when a pup gets parvo (my pups are all rescue foster, so we regularly have sick ones come in).

Dog friendly coffee shops are great to sit in with a pup on your lap, and our local indoor market is brilliant for socialisation as its so important they meet people who look different - men with beards and hats are ones our fosters can be particularly scared of but fortunatly one of the stall holders is a huge hairy biker who is actually a total softy when it comes to dogs so is happy to tuck a puppy in his leather jacket and tell them 'oods a good boy den?' which works wonders

We have a 14 week puppy, just started walking. Prior to this Hubbie took out in a puppy sling when taking our other dog out in a morning so she could get used to the area etc. We have decking and a huge garden so went out there from the start when we got her. Had to wait abit longer to take out on lead as the vets the breeder used for the first vaccine didn't match out vets vaccine. Funny now taking little and large out as on one lead a newfoundland and a pug on the other
