How to build a relationship with a dog you don't really like?

I have seven dogs. Six of which I adore for different reasons, completely different personalities. One, um, I don't. He doesn't do anything wrong, he's good with people and well behaved* but I just can't connect with him. He's just a dog. Rehoming isn't an option - way too many dogs needing a home in my area.

Any ideas from dog trainers for developing a better one on one relationship? He is food orientated.

  • All the other dogs respond positively when I ask them to do something, specifically go from the garden into the courtyard. He just lies down, rolls over and refuses to move. Drives me nuts and I confess to threatening to turning the hosepipe on him (never actually do it!).

Can u do something that is just for the two of you ... like agility etc. That would help create a bond.
