Would you get female dog spayed?

I’ve never had a female before ... would you get her spayed? If so at what age? What are the benefits of going so (apart from the obvious puppy thing!)

Depends on the dog. Giant breed so more chance of osteosarcoma. We were told the jab increases risk of pyometra. She matures and develops with each season.
I would never spay before the bitch is grown and mature. Depends on the breed and your situation.

We had our mini schnauzer spayed at 5 months (before her first season). Our vet advocates early spaying. It hasn’t done her any harm, she’s 3 now and is definitely growing up! I couldn’t have put her through being in season and potential phantom pregnancies.

I will be having my girl spayed at 2 years old, yes seasons are inconvenient however I keep her to areas of the house with hard wood floors etc. And it's beneficial to them to have at least 1 season, they need their hormones to mature properly. A pre-pubescent child wouldn't have a hysterectomy, so I won't do it to my dog either.
