Could I leave my dog home alone for 10 hours? just for 3 days while dh is away?

Definitely not, that's awful. Get someone to come in at lunchtime or take half days from work.

Please get somebody to come in. I know it a cost but it is part of the responsibility of having a dog.

Depends on the dog, mine would be fine as long as he's walked properly first thing, but he's a lazy creature who sleeps all day even when you are home, not for a young dog

I wouldn’t no. My SIL had to leave hers when FIL was unexpectedly taken ill in the night but it just added to her stress. Her InLaws were able to go & get the dogs later on & we’re fine but I just wouldn’t. I use a dog sitter if I’m going to be more than 4/5 hours. She charges £15. I would look into that.

We’ve done this a few times when unavoidable but our dog is old and sleeps all day (when I ask someone to let him out at lunchtime they often have to lever him off the sofa!)
I don’t like doing it though-more in case something happened to him-I’d hate for him to get ill and no one be there for hours.

If you can hold on and not go to the toilet for that long then fine. Even if not walked someone need to let it in the garden at least once. A friend?

Even our old dog who liked to nap most of the day would have made a mess. Could you work half days? Any nice teens in the area who would walk the dog straight after school?

the thing is i dont know if i would be allowed to take leave those particular days.
but think if i ask for coming in late it might be more acceptable, fingers crossed.

I do several times a week- no accidents or issues. It's not always possible to have someone come in, or let them out. The general consensus though seems to be that it's unreasonable. Depends on the dog I suppose. Neither of mine seem to have an issue with it, or be distressed by it

Unlikely I know but could you take of with you to work? Dh wouldn’t be able to but I could have in my last place.
