We thought she had a touch of arthritis but found out today it’s bone cancer. Sadly nothing can be done and she will have to be pts. We’re devastated. She is the most lovely, gentle, beautiful dog and only 5yo.

We’ll keep her at home for a couple of days to say goodbye and the vet will come to the house. She’s currently on morphine so a bit out of it. We’re going to sleep downstairs with her for the next couple of nights and give her whatever treats she wants.

It hurts so much and more so because not everyone understands. Can only really talk about it here.

Poor dh had to go to work upset and dd is inconsolable.

I’m kind of in shock too. I’m looking at her and trying to let it sink in that she’ll be gone in a couple of days.

I'm so sorry for your loss 💔 What a beautiful girl, I love a Rottie.

My lab is 13 and suffering terribly with his arthritis. He fell out of the front door this evening and really struggled to get back up the steps to come back in. We have first and last vets appointments booked on Sunday for a final opinion in the morning and PTS in the afternoon. We lost my nan today, and I feel like I'm saving my grief to let it all out on Sunday if he goes. I haven't even told the kids yet (about nan or DDog).

Much love to you Flowers

I’m so sorry. It’s so hard to lose a much loved furry member of the family Flowers

Our rottweiler is having an op for a suspected cancerous tumour.
Thoughts are with you op.
Your beautiful ddog is a stunner.

MrsMozartMkII · 15/03/2019 21:59

I am so very sorry lass. She was beautiful.

I have two Rotties and despite their general goofy battiness I dread when the days come. We've lost others over the years. It never gets any easier. Just be kind to yourself and show yourself to grieve. Hugs to you

Aw, sincerely, thank you all so much. I’m so raw and apologise for not replying individually to everyone or particularly articulately.

AllGoodDogs I’m so very sorry. I can’t imagine what today brought and the coming days will bring for you but I wish you peace, comfort and solace in good memories of your Nan and hope for the very best outcome for your ddog Flowers

Easter I hope the tumour is benign or removed completely and your ddog returns to good health Flowers

In your own grief and fear, thank you for reaching out to me. It has comforted me so much.

So very sorry. What a gorgeous, gorgeous girl. Flowers

@AllGoodDogs - thinking of you too. So incredibly hard. We lost our old boy a week to the day after my dad's funeral and it was hideously painful. You'll be in my thoughts tomorrow Flowers

AllGoodDogs · 16/03/2019 17:40

Thank you spider

It hit me all of a sudden this evening as I gave him his dinner that it could be the last time. I'm half hoping for a miracle tomorrow and half hoping that this is the end for him. He's been such a joy for 13 years and I want him to be at peace. He fell out of the front door last night and couldn't get back in. It's so distressing watching him struggle.

@Easterbunny fingers crossed for your girls op, hope all goes well for her Flowers

Sorry for your loss, she was gorgeous.

Sending love. There’s nothing I can say that will make you feel better, but in time you will feel better.
