Puppy sick in the morning

Hi, for the last 3 mornings my 6 month old puppy has been sick, just watery bile.
He seems fine in himself, maybe not eating as much as usual though.
Should I be concerned?
I’ve read somewhere it could be a signed of hunger but he never wants to eat before about 10.00am

Have you tried increasing his evening meal size?

BiteyShark · 08/02/2019 08:43

Maybe give him a biscuit either before bed or when he gets up rather then trying to feed him breakfast.

Teelav · 08/02/2019 08:44

Good idea, I’ll try that

does he eat biscuit or tinned?

Teelav · 08/02/2019 08:45

I usually give him a bedtime biscuit.
I don’t normally give him one in the morning so will try that too.

He’s just been sick again.
Not interested in his breakfast.

It could simply be the nausea that is making him not want breakfast. However, I would be thinking of a vet visit in case it's something more especially as the weekend is looming.

CatnissEverdene · 08/02/2019 09:30

The danger with a puppy is that they've eaten something they shouldn't have, and have got a blockage somewhere. Has he pooped? I'd take him to the vet, my BILs dog nearly died from eating a sock.

Teelav · 08/02/2019 09:47

Just off for a little walk, then I’ll see how he is. He has had a normal (but small) poo.
If he’s still not interested in eating his breakfast when we come back, or is sick again, I’ll call the vet.

try some cooked plain chicken or fish

Teelav · 08/02/2019 11:32

He was sick again on his walk, not at all interested in his breakfast or my scrambled eggs. Doesn’t even want to follow me everywhere.
We’re off to the vets at 12.20.

Hope your pup is ok bless him

BiteyShark · 08/02/2019 17:45

How is he doing?

Teelav · 08/02/2019 18:38

Vet couldnt feel any blockages, gave him an anti sickness injection, and prescribed anti sickness pills. Instructions to go back in the morning if he was sick again.
Anyway when we got back from the vets he had 2 massive poos, and has since had a bit of chicken and a bit of his kibble, and kept it down.
Think he’s on the mend.
Thanks all who replied.

Hope he continues to improve.

anniehm · 08/02/2019 18:45

Mine occasionally does that - usually when he had something he shouldn't on his late night walk like chicken bones (people through them on the grass verge and no you can't get them out of his mouth!)

SpanielEars070 · 08/02/2019 19:19

Aw hope he's soon on the mend, it's a real worry when they're not themselves.

Teelav · 09/02/2019 07:59

Thanks all

How's he doing today??

Teelav · 09/02/2019 18:15

He’s back to his normal self!
