Whippet owners - when did you neuter?

Just that really. I know there’s so much conflicting advice; some relating to size of dog etc so just wondered when other whippy owners have taken the plunge!

My pup is approaching 8 months, not humid anything yet but does like to lick his bits a lot more than he used to.

I’ve got three whippet boys who were all done at about 18 months old. Ideally I wouldn’t have bothered but my older bitch, despite being spayed, has always been very attractive to entire males so it was necessary for a harmonious household.

Humping (or not humping) isn’t really related to a need for neutering as it’s often not sexual anyway. Dogs often do it when excited (which mine all do ) or stressed. Sometimes they just enjoy it, my youngest whippet boy occasionally likes a gentle hump of a sofa throw after his tea...
