Does anybody else's dog sleep on a wet lawn when they have a lovely bed ?

She doesn't sleep on the wet lawn but she will take herself outside and sit or lie on the wet grass or wet garden path, even when it's raining if the rain isn't too heavy.

She also likes to sit in the garden when there's a strong, cold wind blowing, and many an evening I've had to sit in a chilly room because she wants to sit at the open back door.

She does have a thick fluffy coat though, and isn't keen on hot weather or an over warm house so I've always put this odd behaviour down to that.

Sledge dogs in ski resorts usually have kennels but most prefer to sleep out on the snow in the open.

I have a cat who shouts to be let out if it's raining, so she can sit on the patio table and get soaked. Eejit.

My dog weighs just under 6.5 kilos so there's not much sledge pulling in her daily schedule.

When I fostered reaches, they often liked the garden a lot more, especially in the beginning. Is yours a rescue dog, OP?

No, Bagel, I have had her since tiny. She's a golden retriever. She likes being outside and isn't bothered if it starts raining when on a walk.

Well mine wouldn’t but that’s because he goes the opposite way and just won’t deal with the wet.

You know cats who insist on you opening the door, but then won’t go out because it’s raining, but then ask to go out 5 minutes later and do the same?

Or like when they put one paw on wet grass and then recoil horrified trying to shake it dry?

And I know some breeds are notorious for being a bit delicate about weather... but he’s a rottie, he’s supposed to be bred to look after cows in all weathers!

He’s a bit arthritic and he’s got a lovely soft raised bed - will he lay on it? Will he fuck. Outside, in the cold and rain in the dark

My beagle really dislikes the rain and spends most wet walks looking at me as if to say "why have you dragged me out in this?!"

Same here @harrypotterfan1604 - I have to take him out though as he's only 10 months old and is a real nightmare without two walks a day (or one long walk).

He just spent the entire time looking mournful and then got annoyed when he was confined to the kitchen afterwards as he was absolutely filthy!
