How much does raw feeding cost?

For two labradors...? Also how much freezer space is needed?

The younger one seems to have a delicate digestive system and with most kibble his poo isn't as firm as desired! I thought raw feeding might be a good idea but we are on a budget.

Here she is on the left, this photo was taken the other day.. she’s a lovely size and shape, last weighed the vet said all was good (one month ago).
I’m really worried now I’ve been over feeding! I presumed she became an ‘adult dog’ at 12 months?

They are so beautiful! Look really healthy too. We feed 2-2.5% of body weight. Have actually had to cut ours down slightly. We run ours twice a day and still manage to over feed 🙈

Oh my she is gorgeous Smile If she is 12 months that is not so bad.

I would be watching her weight carefully now and aim when she is fully grown to be giving her about 700kg per day not per meal. So between 12 months and 18 months make sure she is not putting on weight just keeping that fantastic glossy coat.

This has been a really useful thread, I'm looking at moving onto raw, my friend recommended using a local butcher as well as it's cheaper. I also was given this to use with regards to puppies on raw and what percentage body weight to feed them

Bella and Duke have a great calculator on their website and it gives you the amounts to feed and how much it costs per day depending on which size box you get. I think our 4 month old pup costs around £1.30 a day to feed with them and we buy 40 days worth at a time and store in a small chest freezer as we only have a tiny freezer indoors. I'd definitely recommend their calculator and trial pack.

We use Bella and Duke too. My flatcoat X golden retriever is about 28kilos and eats about 700g per day. We get it delivered monthly and it works out about £68 a month and takes up approx 3 shelves in the freezer. We have a spare freezer in the shed, otherwise I wouldn't have space. My dog took a while to get used to the food but now he really enjoys it. With kibble he would often leave food all day and not be bothered about eating it unless we mixed leftovers with it. He has always been shiny but now he's positively glowing. Since he was a puppy he has had one ear prone to infection. But this has also improved since he's been on raw. May just be a coincidence but it doesn't need cleaning as often anymore.
