Electric heated dog blanket for elderly dog

Hello, my dog is getting old and sometimes has stiff joints in the morning. I've noticed it's worse after cooler nights and thought about an electric dog blanket to keep him warm., I can't easily isolate the heating in his room and don't want to heat the whole house over night.

Has anybody tried one? any recommendations for one that is safe/durable? I'd like it to be quite large to cover the whole bottom on the bed if possible.

It would be a brave manufacturer that made anything involving chewable wires and mains electricity for the use of a dog

We use these with our dogs. We've had no issues whatsoever. Our local shelter also appreciates them, particularly for kittens/puppies and older animals.

You can scarcely move the Beagle off his in winter. He digs in like an echidna and refuses to be moved.

Wouldn't be without them now. I think it helped our old dog's arthritis immensely in the last year or two of her life. And, like with all animals (humans included, of course), older animals are less mobile, and their circulation is poorer, so they feel the cold more than they would've when they were younger.

I had a heated (electric) pad for my elderly cat. She loved it, particularly at night. It didn't cost much to use. I got it from Amazon.

My dog is not a chewer so I'm not too concerned about that although can see it would concern a manufacturer!

Useda Petnap with my elderly cats who slept in an unheated conservatory. They loved it.

Designed for no chance of burns even if bedding on top got dislodged. The cable had metal chewproof cover though you say that isn't an issue.
Element all sealed so no chance of electric shock even if they urinate on it.

See they do a vinyl version now (we had to metal ones). Cheap to run (and we put it on one of those timer switches so it only ran at night).

Thanks a lot, annoyingly i saw this too late and bought an Mvpower one from Amazon. If that isn't any good I'll try your recomendation as it sounds better. Fingers crossed it helps his stiff joints.

What about a jumper instead?
Equafleece are amazing and a god send for my older arthritic girl who also struggles with the cold and her joints in the winter. They’re breathable so the dogs can still regulate their own temperature and very durable and easily washable. The company are also lovely and super helpful with sizing.

That's a good idea, I did put him in a standard dog jumper at night but thought something he has more choice over might be better. Have been meaning to look into equifleeces though, perhaps useful in the daytime when the weather gets colder.
