I am getting a bit stressed about leaving her. I have an adult lab (who is tolerating her) and 2 cats. MY lab has shown no signs of aggression, though I woult not leave them together without supervision. I need to do school run etc. and to take big dog out for his walk and can take her with me but I don't want to make a rod for my own back in having her attached to me to such a degree. She is 9 weeks old so very young but I realy don't want to nurthure separation anxiety! Is a crate the answer?

Also, the crate is never used for punishment. I try to make sure they only have positive associations with their crate. If they've been naughty they're just ignored or put into another room for a short while with no attention ( exactly what happens depends on each individual dog and what works best).

She clambered in there for a nap just now. I have pushed the door to and she saw me do it and didnt seem fussed one bit. I guess the test will be if I need to put her in there when she doesn't want a nap! She seems to like it though, as I have had no objections so far and she cuddled up with her toy dog. long may it continue!
