Can anyone suggest a dog proof toys?

Madam absoutely loves her squeaky teddy toys. My problem? They don't last long before she has managed to shred them open and stuffing is all over the place.

I would love to get her some new toys for Christmas so any reccomendations?

She can't have tennis balls, she pulls the fluff off them.

But anything else is fine

Our dog does well with the tuff enuff brand. He's a little sausage dog so it's in his genes to want to kill anything that gets between his teeth but these seem to last forever with him.

He's had a couple of Kong things that go the distance too but not everything.

We have a patterdale terrier and so He cant be trusted with anything. We bought ruff n tough in the past to which I took back to pets at home a couple of hours later saying rough n tough my arse.

So he gets solid rubber things. Balls, bones, linked rings, Kong

At Xmas he does get a treat of a knotted rope to 'kill' and shred and a squeaky toy which lasts all of 5 mins till he's got the squeaker out.

It can be really hit and miss finding toys they won't trash. It's not always about how tough or otherwise they are, some things just seem to be more satisfying to destroy than others. Mine have had some toys for ages which they could rip apart in minutes if they chose to whereas some marketed as strong haven't lasted at all.

Some of the Tuffy toys are quite good, ones like this or this where the shape doesn't really lend itself too much to chewing. I've got a couple like that which have lasted my lot quite well (normally they de-stuff everything within minutes) but the more complex shaped ones are too easy for them to rip apart.

Fleece tuggies have gone down very well in this house. They love playing with them but for whatever reason aren't inclined to destroy them. I got them one at Crufts this March and it's still in great condition even though it gets played with almost daily. I've picked up a couple more for their Christmas presents from Tough Tugz and they seem like very good quality.

Mini/midi rugby balls (as in proper rugby balls, not just flimsy rugby ball shaped balls) go down pretty well with mine and are reasonably sturdy. Optimum in particular do some really fun designs in the smaller sizes.

West Paw Zogoflex toys are tough. Mine have got the Tux and the Jive, both have lasted really well so far and get played with a lot.

DWhippet1 in particular loves the Kong Xpressions toys and they've all survived so far.

Some of the Rosewood Biosafe toys have lasted for ages here. The apple and the raspberry have been the best and the pear was pretty good. The watermelon lasted about five minutes

The Planet Dog Orbee stuff is quite sturdy as well. We've had the Tuff Orbee Ball in the past and this year they're getting the strawberry for Christmas.

The trouble with 'dog proof' toys is that they're boring! My dog is destructive with her soft toys but she's not interested in a plain rubber bone or anything like that. Most soft toys she'll have ripped to bits within a minute. Her treasured favourites that have lasted her well are:

The football will puncture after a while and then the rope will come off, but to be honest my Skye prefers it all squished. Don't ask me why she's decided that the stoat and the leopard are special either. She's had many, many similar teddies that have been in the bin within a day, but she's fond of those ones.

My patterdale , who has got less destructive with age , has the set of King Wubba Ballistic friends , they’ve lasted ages and are only missing a few ears and extremeties .

I've not found an actual dog proof one yet, if they're the supposedly tougher ones he sits and finds any weak spot or loose stitch and gets that instead of just ripping it open, lol

Those ones without stuffing to start with last longest, he'll get any squeakers out but after that he'll actually play with them rather than destroy them.

Otherwise I buy ones from Poundland and just accept they're single use, lol...and I mean, he does enjoy destroying them...

@thismeansnothing. Sorry to hi-jack this thread, but we are hoping to get a rescue dog in the New Year. She is an 8 year old Terrier x Pattie, who was with a family, until the mother died, this year. We are retired first time dog owners. I wonder if you have any advice for us, should we be successful in our application for her. Thanks.
