Dog mess on our street

Hi folks. I don’t have a dog but was hoping you nice, responsible dog owners might be able to provide some advice. For some reason in the 18 months we have lived on our street we have had a steady increase in people not clearing up their dog mess. Not many people on the road have dogs, but we are on a road which is between 2 popular parks so I suspect it’s non-residents. Looking (from a distance) at the many, many poos on the street today, it is clearly a few different dogs. Size and colour varies a lot. I’m just wondering if there is ANYTHING I can do? I am half tempted to go out there and clean it up, but it isn’t my responsibility and I don’t want to enable anyone to keep doing it. Signs would do nothing I suppose? There are those official council ones about talking about the fines. But I never see Anyone actually walk away so no idea who the people are to report it. Not sure what I expect you to be able to do to help but I know no MN dog owner would do this so I just wanted a little rant I guess. Thanks for reading!

Report this to your local council.

I’ve looked at the form online and it allows just to report specific messes rather than a regular problem, so I’d have to fill in 4-5 forms per day. If it gets any worse I may well do that though.

Is there a doggy doo bin nearby?
If not ask the council for one. I done this successfully for a path leading to DC nursery & park. (Basically we parents complained and the council did listen!)

Good idea @Ylvamoon perhaps if there was a bin in sight they would be more likely to chuck it away

Our council spray paints a sign on the pavement with the warning of a fine. It's made of a non permanent paint though and wears off. I'm not sure it helps tbh. Awful though isn't it.
