Hi, I'm new to the doghouse, last month we adopted our beautiful girl from Romania. I'm just curious as to what mix she is.
There's definitely german shepherd in there but she has lovely floppy ears and long, skinny legs! Almost lurcher/greyhound like on her stomach area too.
She's 13 months old - beautiful and naughty with the sweetest nature. I can't believe how quickly she's adapted and even comes for cuddles now.
Thanks!

I have no idea. Beautiful girl ❤️

Thanks!
I'm biased but I agree.
We already love her so much even though she eats our clothes and hasn't mastered toilet training Hmm

Oh, she's gorgeous! Definitely a bit of greyhound in there.

I think I can see a bit of GSD and lab but it's impossible to tell Grin still gorgeous!

It's hard to tell, I know. Thanks for your ideas.
Im hoping she doesn't grow TOO big! She already runs around like a big klutz because her legs are too big for her body Grin

Long story but after years of debates/teasing/speculating we got our friend a dog DNA testing kit for her birthday. It was surprisingly revealing and useful!

Bellabluea · 06/09/2017 21:19

Ooh! I love that idea! It's so interesting, we know absolutely nothing about her other than she was born in the death camps over there Sad

It was £60 (we clubbed up for the present!), from Amazon. You take a saliva swab and post it off to the lab (ratory)* and they email the results back. They give you confident results for parents and grandparents and then less confident for a few generations back. Very interesting as our friend's dog a right old mix. They also give some indication of temperament, health stuff, expected weight and so on for the mix. Much fun!

*very obvious joke because obviously labradors are too daft to be scientists

A lot if a Romanian dogs have at least a bit of Kokoni in them
