Anyone watching 10 puppies and us?

I'm really enjoying this, the pups are adorable and its showing up some of the issues new puppy owners face. The more unusual ones such as the search and rescue dog are interesting too.

I've taped last nights going to watch it later. My pup is a stroppy teenager now, bloody hard work!

Wolfiefan · 04/08/2017 16:33

I'm on episode two.
It's made me feel like I might actually have an ounce of a clue.
Lessons people should learn:
Never get a pet for your kids.
Can't cope with two? Don't get a third!
Your dog needs to fit your house and lifestyle. You can't just like the way it looks.
Dogs need training. People need more! Grin

I have heard about it but think the puppy months are still to raw for me to watch it [still recovering Wine]

hometownunicorn · 04/08/2017 16:37

I have been. Like you Wolfie I've found it quite reassuring in that I'm now pretty sure we chose the right dog and that he's (moderately!) well trained. I also realise I don't miss the bitey weeing everywhere days at all!

SizeSevenShoes · 04/08/2017 16:39

I watched a bit of it but I hated that they didn't offer any comment on the thousands of dogs that are up for adoption. I think it encourages knob heads to get puppies which encourages the puppy farm trade.

The posh family who had the cocker puppy made me so angry the way they let their smallest child keep bothering their pup. Fucking idiots.

That woman in London just made me feel sad. She was browsing online for a big dog for a tiny flat. Everything that's wrong with people who buy puppies.

Bunch of fucking cunts the lot of them

Wolfiefan · 04/08/2017 16:40

Bitey it's fine. Not quite as "honest" as some of the chats on the puppy survival thread. (Or was it just me sleep deprived and sobbing?!)
Interesting to see how people fall into the traps of wrong dog or wrong reason. But quite lighthearted.

BLUEsNewSpringWatch · 04/08/2017 16:41

What channel is it on? Will look if it's on catch up.

Wolfiefan · 04/08/2017 16:44

BBC 2.
Some of us choose to wait and get a puppy from a reputable breeder @SizeSevenShoes. Not all families or situations suit rescue dogs (other pets are rescues). We're not all fucking cunts because we chose to buy a dog. Confused

InvisableLobstee · 04/08/2017 16:55

Some of them were a bit daft esp that woman with the Great Dane and the parents should have stepped in more with the cocker spaniel. I did like the woman with the Golden Retriever, even though she started off pretty useless she kept trying.
@sizeseven they did have a rescue pup in episode 1 it was 7 month old Podenco cross from Spain and reminded me of my wee lurcher who we also got at about 7 months, originally from Ireland. It was a real escapologist which again is like mine, she got out of our garden over a 5'wall. But I do think rescue dogs often seem to know they have found a good place and are really pleased to be with you. The one on the show looked like it was very happy and the owners loved it.
