Hi
I brought home my new dog yesterday afternoon. He's a 6yo lab cross.
He was rescued from Romania where he was a stray and last week had surgery to remove an abscess which was a side effect of his treatment for heartworm. He is currently on Metaclam once per day and Noroclav twice per day. He has been in the UK for 1 month at an animal sanctuary.

He seems well in himself. Lots of tail wagging, interested in our food and has eaten all of his food and meds since he came home. He has been drinking. I've taken him out for 2 short walks and he has been in the garden but he has not had a wee since 9pm yesterday and has not had a poo at all since I brought him home.
The sanctuary said that he is naturally a very very lazy dog and just lays around all day and that he was like that in Romania and has been like that his whole time in the UK. The sanctuary said that he hates being outside and hates going for walks.

I'm hoping that he's just a bit out of kilter while he is settling in but when should I start to worry?
His wound is clean and dry and looks healthy.

That sounds odd I would take him to the vet to be honest

I just spoke to the sanctuary and they said that they will phone the vet if he hasn't gone by the morning. I'm going to put some puppy pads down just in case he doesn't want to go outside but might go inside.

That's good hope he's ok

He's had a wee. Hopefully he'll poo tomorrow 🤞
