Every time we get to vote I am massively excited thinking of all the dogs I can go pet as a reward for voting...usually though there arent any as we live in a tiny village so I made damn sure I took mine today - although I did take him inside for all to pet!!!

I walked mine to the polling station for the Brexit vote and was told they weren't allowed in so DD had to wait outside with them. Left them in the car today while I voted and then we went off to the garden centre where dogs are joyfully allowed to wander around.

CornflakeHomunculus · 08/06/2017 16:57

DDog2 came with us and was allowed into the church hall the polling station is in. As predicted she had an absolutely super time and was very pleased that these random people set up shop specifically so she could go visit them Grin

Hammybear · 08/06/2017 17:04

OP what breed is he? He is gorgeous.

Calyrical · 08/06/2017 17:06

I would vote for him, op Grin

Eragonsegg · 08/06/2017 17:06

Ah op he's lovely...like a dog but disney style! Was very disappointed at the lack of dog at our polling station.

ShoesHaveSouls · 08/06/2017 17:08

We're taking our dog to the polling station later Grin

Will definitely get a photo of him if the silly mutt will sit still long enough

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 08/06/2017 17:08

Dops at polling stations are the best thing on twitter on election days.

Clg199 · 08/06/2017 17:15

Our whippet used to come into the school at the end of our road to vote with us. He loved it as he used to look whistfully through the fence at all the kids playing that could, in all fairness, be playing with him, and all those fields to run around in. On voting day, he actually got to go in! On lead of course, and no hanging around to allow weeing in the playground, but I'm sure he loved checking out all the smells that were usually off limits to him.

Ddog went last minute campaigning with me yesterday.
Giant red bow should turn even hardened Tories.

Hammy He is a cocker spaniel
Right now, hes going backwards on his toilet training so I'm not too sure how he'll fare running the country. Unless of course the last couple of days have been a dirty protest because he ISNT running the country.

Daniel the spaniel?

That may be the cutest thing ever Grin

AmIAWeed · 08/06/2017 17:31

I thought it was cute, but there was a 'what shall I name my spaniel' thread earlier and SO MANY people said Daniel!!
I like to think in the last couple of weeks since we announced his name, everyone thought us so clever and original they have renamed their spaniels!!!

@HmmOkay
Yep. Baby puppy! 9 months on 20/6. Nearly 50kg. Baby wolfhounds aren't tiny.
I stood outside but we were actually invited in. No selfies mind. You try taking a picture whilst in control of the Hound! Grin

wisteriainbloom · 08/06/2017 17:43

We took our 14 week old puppy and our older rescue with us, forgot to take a photo though.

wisteriainbloom · 08/06/2017 17:43

Apparently you can take your horse too, but it must be tied up outside.

wisteriainbloom · 08/06/2017 17:45

I agree, no doubt some miserable dog hating weirdos are whinging about it somewhere on mumsnet right now though.

AmIAWeed · 08/06/2017 17:57

Wisterian I am SO fed up of social media and people airing their political views, I have spent weeks biting my tongue, knowing everyone is entitled to an opinion (resisting the urge of telling them not to foist their opinion on me) that if anyone dare moan about Dogs at polling stations I'll likely explode and that person will get weeks of pent up annoyance at me biting my tongue!!

Surely, regardless of political opinions, Dogs unite us all.

Dogs were banned from my polling station too. Didn't know that, so ended up having to make two trips. Grrr. Adding insult to injury as I went inside dog-less, a woman came out with one under her arm. Mine's over four stone though so that wasn't happening...

LaurieFairyCake · 08/06/2017 20:06

She posed for this Grin

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 08/06/2017 20:08

Awww what a cutie Smile

Mupflup · 08/06/2017 20:09

I was really disappointed I couldn't take mupdog, she's reactive and we thought there might be too many other dogs around

She would vote for any party that offered cheese and a comfy sofa!

ShoesHaveSouls · 08/06/2017 20:12

Here we go. What a dog! Standing up for democracy. As you can see from the photo, our polling station is a pub- now enjoying a cheeky Wine

wisteriainbloom · 08/06/2017 20:19

I didn't think that it was legal to ban dogs, the electoral commission says that dogs are allowed in an 'accompanying' role. Presumably meaning they mustn't be allowed to influence anyone Grin
