Why does my dog always smell off after flea treatment?

Every month, without fail. He smells musky (?) for the 2/3 following having advocate flea and worm treatment. The other dog is fine, doesn't smell at all with it.

Fed up of my house smelling so bad after fleaing.

Get a Soresto collar from the vets, they stave off fleas and ticks for 8 months. We couldn't get through summer without it!

CowParsleyNettle do you still find ticks on your dog with the collar? I put one on my dog around 2-3 months ago and I pulled two ticks off him already today :(

Sorry OP didn't mean to derail your thread. I use advocate and don't notice a musty smell but for about 3-4 days he just has that horrible chemical smell which is yuk

Yes my boy has it too. It's awful.

It's the flea treatment that smells. Do you put it all in one spot or stagger it.
