Unruly dog coming to stay, please help with tips and advice!

I have a well mannered well behaved terrier with excellent recall and no vices. I will be looking after my friends dog for a few weeks shortly. Its the same breed of terrier as mine, but half the age (4), and unruly. Barks at everything that moves, chases same, runs off if off lead.

I have said I will try and do some training while we have her, but not sure I will have any success given her deep seated vices.

Dh has suggested linking both dogs together off lead, but I've never heard of this practice.

Does anyone have any advice please?

Never heard of linking dogs together off lead. Doesn't sound safe as they could get entangled in something.
It might be best to walk them separately as sometimes well behaved dog can copy naughty dog's behaviour. When I got my barky rescue I quickly stopped walking him with quiet well behaved lab as I ended up with the 2 of them barking together at other dogs.

Your husband is talking about a brace lead like this but they are best used with two evenly matched dogs who are used to walking together. A recipe for disaster with poorly matched dogs.

Yes please don't walk it with your dog or even let them spend too much time together, or you could find yourself having to retrain your own dog. Why have you offered to look after it?

Usually my dog is unconcerned by other dogs bad behaviour and will look with disgust and no physical reaction, but I am starting to worry that actually living together will be problematic for my dog.

My friend is poorly ATM and also needs a break from her dog as it is quite a handful.
