my Shih Tzu smells like a miniature damp sheep!

So said my sister recently! I know what she means, and it's just as well I luffs him so much
Any solutions for that damp doggy smell (probably worse in longish haired dogs like mine)? I should warn you that I always turn down the offer of his spritz of perfume at the groomer's, as I can often find such scents a bit sicky.
