Do you take your dog to other people's houses?

Just wondered that exactly. This is a deal breaker for pil coming for Christmas dinner. They will be out the house for 3 hours and live 5 minutes away. We have other guests coming who don't particularly like dogs. Pil go out for lunch for longer afaik don't take ddog with them?

I'm a dog person and have had dogs for years. I wouldn't dream of taking my lovely dog(s) to anyone else's house apart from dog-owning DC.
People who don't have dogs don't want the dog hair, smell, possibly fleas in their homes and probably aren't keen on dogs.
MIL is being a bit precious and needs to back off and grow up.

Thanks all you can't argue with crazy as she was very drunk - a whole other thread- and maintained dog was hard done to. He just likes to be petted and happily stays whilst PIL go out for their liquid lunches every other day in life. MIL can't see as she has zero self awareness that other people's wishes matter and DH feels she is putting dog first. It degenerated after that and not sure she will remember as she was so inebriated. To be fair FIL tried to maintain composure. If they don't contact DH and apologise I don't think the relationship can recover.
